Posted on 5/20/2013 12:16:58 AM		The boys did well considering not having a decent training session together. Axmen a well balanced side and played well together both in the union and League. Playing in our new strip sponsored by John Gross, Alumni from Boca Rugby Football club, in front of a 300-400 crowd, the boys narrowly loss the first half which was contested rugby union 5-3 with both sides pressing the try zone with many attacks and the Axmen were rewarded with a try. The second half rugby league was a different story and a different beast with the Axmen totally dominating both in defence and offence. The Axmen is a well represent team with players from allover the world that competes in the American Rugby League Competition and are a professional club which allows them to pay their players. Florida had no answer for the Axmen ferocious calculated attacks as they scored try after try within the first 5 minutes. Florida showed that they could put together some but very few good runs. Considering that only two of the Florida players have played rugby League before, Drago who had a season with the Axmen now playing for the Jacksonville RFC and Matt McGinnis from Krewe RFC, the boys were competitive. All players represent their club proudly and great ambassadors for Florida State. Thanks to the Coaching Staff and the players who travelled to Jacksonville. Frank Tito Head Coach
