If the 305 keeps this up, Pitbull might have to drop by soon.

Miami RFC and the Tridents both won last week, each maintaining their unbeaten start to the 2013-14 season, bringing back memories for many South Florida ruggers from when Miami-Dade was consistently home to some of the best rugby in the state.

Of course, things haven't been that way in recent years, especially last season when the Bumblebees failed to win a single matrix game. But their rout of Naples this past Saturday and Tridents' handling of Krewe show that the 305 is clearly back in the title hunt this campaign. Of course, some will speculate that the overall quality of D2 sides across the state is down, but it's still early, and there's plenty of time for other squads to get it together.

Fort Lauderdale (1-0) at Tampa Krewe (0-2) - This game isn't the sexiest tilt on the schedule, but we'll certainly learn a whole lot about both teams from the contest. A win over Boca Raton on Saturday was nice, but everyone knows the real test comes when your team goes on a long road trip. Can the Knights go up to Tampa and bring home a second straight win to keep pace with their 305 neighbors, or will Krewe shake off their early troubles and head into the holiday break with a win under their belt? This one could surely go either way, but I like the home team to squeak out a close one late. Krewe 24, Fort Lauderdale 22

Result: Krewe 18, Fort Lauderdale 16

Naples (1-1) at Daytona (0-1) - Two teams coming off losses, although both defeats were very different. The Hammerheads took a heavy beating on the road at Miami RFC, while Daytona lost a heartbreaker to Orlando at home. This game will likely depend on what sort of team Naples takes on one of the longest road trips in the state. I think they will take just enough of a team up to take care of the Coconuts. Naples 30, Daytona 20

Result: Naples 27, Daytona 10

Boca Raton (0-2) at Miami Tridents (2-0) - The Buccaneers have stumbled out of the gate so far and things won't get any easier with this 45-minute trip south to one of the hottest teams in the state. You have to like the home team to take care of business in this one, although Boca should get stronger with every game and could pull the upset very easily. Miami Tridents 25, Boca Raton 18

Result: Miami Tridents 18, Boca Raton 25

Jacksonville (0-0) at Orlando (1-1) - Jax finally comes out of hibernation to play their first matrix match of the season. I'm a little in the dark about what to expect from them. Orlando lost heavily to the Tridents in their opener before just edging out Daytona on the road last week, and the jury is certainly still out on them, too. I'm going out on a very long limb here, and will pick the visitors to take the W home back to the northeast corner of the state. Jacksonville 32, Orlando 28

Game was cancelled due to field availability problems.

Note of the Editor: we are adding this game to be played on Dcemb er 7th in this article, although it does not match the date. This game has been rescheduled from January 25th, 2014 to December 7th, 2013.

Boca Raton (1-2) at Jacksonville (0-0) - The Buccaneers get their longest trip of the season out of the way early here thanks to a scheduling change, while Jax are making their 2013-14 debut. Boca bounced back from two opening losses to Miami and Fort Lauderdale by beating the Tridents 25-17 before Thanksgiving. While the road up to Jax is long, I think the trip back might feel a little shorter for Boca when they pull out the win here against a Jax team that hasn't played a competitive game of rugby in a while. Boca 30, Jacksonville 17

Last Week: 2-2
Season: 4-3
All-Time: 53-21 (71.6%)
